The heights by great men reached and kept Were not attained by sudden flight, But they, while their companions slept, Were toiling upward in the night

Prefatory statement:

“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised”

The Woman Who Fears The Lord

10  An excellent wife who can find?
She is far more precious than jewels.

Prov. 12:4 An excellent wife is the crown of her husband,
but she who brings shame is like rottenness in his bones.

Pro. 18:22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing
and obtains favor from the Lord.

Pro 3:15 She is more precious than jewels,
and nothing you desire can compare with her.

Pro 19:14 House and wealth are inherited from fathers,
but a prudent wife is from the Lord.

11 The heart of her husband trusts in her,
and he will have no lack of gain.

I Cor 7:34 There is a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares about the things of the world—how she may please her husband.

12 She does him good, and not harm,
all the days of her life.

Eph 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

13 She seeks wool and flax,
and works with willing hands.

Tit 2:5 [To be] discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

I Ti 2:9-10 I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, 10but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.

I Pe 3:-4 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. 4Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

Ecc 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might…

14 She is like the ships of the merchant;
she brings her food from afar.

15 She rises while it is yet night
and provides food for her household
and portions for her maidens.

Pro 6:9 How long will you lie there, you sluggard?
       When will you get up from your sleep?

 10 A little sleep, a little slumber,
       a little folding of the hands to rest-

 11 and poverty will come on you like a bandit
       and scarcity like an armed man. [a]

 Pro 27: 27 You will have plenty of goats’ milk
       to feed you and your family
       and to nourish your servant girls.

16 She considers a field and buys it;
with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.

17 She dresses herself with strength
and makes her arms strong.

Pro 6:6 Go to the ant, you sluggard;
       consider its ways and be wise!

 7 It has no commander,
       no overseer or ruler,

 8 yet it stores its provisions in summer
       and gathers its food at harvest.

 9 How long will you lie there, you sluggard?
       When will you get up from your sleep?

 10 A little sleep, a little slumber,
       a little folding of the hands to rest-

 11 and poverty will come on you like a bandit
       and scarcity like an armed man.

18 She perceives that her merchandise is profitable.
Her lamp does not go out at night.

19 She puts her hands to the distaff,
and her hands hold the spindle.

20 She opens her hand to the poor
and reaches out her hands to the needy.

21 She is not afraid of snow for her household,
for all her household are clothed in scarlet. [6]

22 She makes bed coverings for herself;
her clothing is fine linen and purple.

23 Her husband is known in the gates
when he sits among the elders of the land.

Pro 19:13 A foolish son is ruin to his father,
   and a wife’s quarreling is a continual dripping of rain.

24 She makes linen garments and sells them;
she delivers sashes to the merchant.

25 Strength and dignity are her clothing,
and she laughs at the time to come.

26 She opens her mouth with wisdom,
and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

Pro1:8 Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction
       and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.

I Ti 5:13 Besides, they get into the habit of being idle and going about from house to house. And not only do they become idlers, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things they ought not to.

27 She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:

 Pro 15:20 A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

Pro 29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left [to himself] bringeth his mother to shame.

29 “Many women have done excellently,
but you surpass them all.”

30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Pro 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

31 Give her of the fruit of her hands,
and let her works praise her in the gates.

Ecc 9:9 Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that [is] thy portion in [this] life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.
