A Sunday with Angelo & Rob Schneider

Tuesday, August 26, 2008

It was yet another gloomy and rainy Sunday. After attending a worship service, i met with a friend whose name i am not inclined to disclose (yet) haha. We had a quickie…  a quickie meal at Chef d’ Angelo which was all her idea haha. I gave my orders at the counter - mine was “Seafood Medley” a delicious spicy scampi sauce over fettuccini and ornamented with tendered shrimp and calamari lightly sautéed. Mmm so scrumptious that i became engrossed eating and forgot about my companion hahaha. Sorry, my bad! But i tell you, it was yummy and while writing this, i still feel the aftertaste. My companion was then craving for Chicken Al Pesto so that’s what she ordered When served, it doesn’t look good. It’s like a plain spaghetti pasta sprinkled with chunks of grasses and broiled chicken meat. I knew upon seeing the appearance of her pasta that she’ll not enjoy it. I think she really did not enjoy her meal as much as she did not enjoy my company.

In a flash, i walked her towards where she works then with a waving hand, i politely said goodbye.

Few minutes after realizing that i am alone again, i stole a seat at the krispy kreme store and had a moment with myself. I began thinking of what to do or where to go next. Either i go back to church to attend our choir practice, go to the office to get things for my homework, give in to my officemate’s invite to have a little dose of alcohol in gerry’s grill, to watch BIG STAN by Rob Schneider, or to head home early.

I remained indecisive until i thought i could use a cup of cold coffee jelly to re-energize my indolent brain cells. To starbucks i went, had a few sips, opened my laptop, wifi was down so instead of checking my friendster account, haha, i proofread my write-ups and pleadings. Later, i decided to watch Big Stan instead.

Stating the obvious, im a big fan of Rob Schneider. Harhar.

The PLOT of the movie is, Schneider, a convicted man, panics when he learns he’s going to prison for fraud. He will serve the sentence only after 6 months from the date of conviction so that he could teach music to street children. But instead, he hires a mysterious martial arts guru who helps transform him into a martial arts expert who can fight off inmates who want to hurt or ass rape him. Hahaha.

It was a decent comedy with the goofy Rob Schneider.  Pretty fun story actually and its one of the better flicks he has made. Worth seeing comedy movie in my opinion.

It has fair share of funny moments, filled with adult humour. The film has a realistic slant on prison life, whilst obviously putting a comical spin on it.

I found myself chuckling most of the way through this movie. The movie house was half-empty and i had no companion so i can laugh aloud as often as i want. I recommend you watch it too.

In regards to your “quickie meal”, you forgot to mention their wine selection (if the restaurant have one). I asked because i am new in wine world and i am learning about different kinds/types of wine. Thanks.
