The heights by great men reached and kept Were not attained by sudden flight, But they, while their companions slept, Were toiling upward in the night

Prayer Solicitation (pls read in full)

Wednesday, November 26, 2008

Guys, i am soliciting prayers for my two siblings (Sherwyn and Jewel), and BLOOM who will take the forthcoming nursing licensure exam. Here’s a brief backgrounder: My sister works as a psychologist however, in her aspiration to advance her career, as advised by her mentors, she decided to study nursing. In two years time, she finished the course.

Academic wise, my brother is the smartest in the family. Compared to us, he has a superb IQ. I am always proud of him especially when he was admitted in UP Manila. However, everyone has his own weaknesses – he didn’t make good in Calculus perhaps because he became engrossed with PE101 (archery), JOA201 and CBI101 hehe. Little did he know when I was taking up engineering, my grade in Differential Calculus is only 2.25 and my Integral Calculus is 2.50 haha. These are the two major subjects which expunged my name from the Dean’s List. (more…)

To the rest, thru this mode. i humbly beg you to support my newly born weblog by adding you the link to your blogroll. If you already did, please accept my warm appreciation. God Bless Us All.

Dear God Today I will take my examination which is so important to me. Though I am nervous, I am not afraid
Because I know that as I write my answers
It is YOUR hands that work.

And now, as I take this examination
Please enlighten my mind
to be able to answer correctly
And to recall everything that I have studied.
I will do my best in this exam and to you God
I will entrust my fate
I knoW that whatever will be the result,
it is according to YOUR will.

Starbucks planner 2009

Sunday, November 16, 2008

The amazing race to starbucks’ 2009 planner has begun. Last year, we were required to complete the twenty four stickers in order to get a planner. Now, starbucks stripped the number of stickers to just sixteen. This is a great news to those sbux addicts out there. The 2009 planner comes in  three colours vibrant colours. Aside from the planner, you’ll also get an elegant ballpen (not just a pencil) and a sturdy bookmark. See the pictures below and decide whether to get one this year or not. To my mind, 2007 and 2008 planners are better. (more…)

Marriage is not a solution to poverty

Sunday, November 9, 2008

A distant relative got married yesterday. She is only eighteen i think. As a backgrounder, the elder sister got married when she was 18 and their eldest joined the matrimony when he was 21.

The scheduled wedding is not a result of a well-planned and deliberate intention to enter into a family life. As per my observation, neither was there a reasonable period of courtship. To my mind, the untimely wedding is brought about by the unintended pregnancy of the bride. I wish im wrong.

The bride: She didn’t finish college, unemployed, young, and pretty (of course she is my relative).

The groom: He did not attend college. He has no visible and permanent sources of income. He gets financial support from his relatives. He was most of the times jobless and on the few occasions that he landed on a job, he would not last long because he does not have interest in keeping his job.

He is indulged in different vices such as drinking intoxicating liquors and womanizing, to which vices it seems he cannot detach himself anymore. He adores “adors” such as “emperador”, “matador”, “fundador” his filthy Labrador and bestfriend Salvador haha. (more…)
